Saka Guna Tedak Siten

Yeay! Finally we got the opportunity to post these pictures of tedak Siten of our favorite lovely baby boy, Saka Guna Rakhmanda.

Tedak Siten is a ceremony in the tradition of Javanese culture, that must be done when the child is learning to walk for the first time at the age of about seven or eight months. Stages in Siten tedak ceremony includes:

Cleaning the feet
Injak tanah
Walk past seven containers: ono jadah, jenang, karo sing liya
Tangga tebu wulung
Kurungan
Giving money
Liberates the chicken

Overall, this ceremony meaning is to teach the concept of being independent to children.

Yes, we surely hope Saka to grow up and become an independent and tough man as the name suggests.
